When I think of everything that is KIHON FC im struck by the evolution and diversity that has risen-up over the past 41 years. The physical dojo began at the University of Windsor in an unused computer lab and has evolved to the personal Dojo we practice this "Thing of Ours" in on the main artery here in Windsor Ont.
The "Art" has Improved and Evolved into the current status of comprehensive empty hand fighting that is now, KIHON FC. It includes, traditional Katas, Katame waza and Knockdown fighting.
Its simply well rounded and a thing of beauty.
However, for me what is most striking and personally satisfying are the relationships and friendships that have been started, developed and then fostered at our Lil-Dojo.
The last few years for me have been a roller-coaster of ups and downs (with what seemed like many more downs) but there was never a question about the support I felt in the school.
I also know, from first hand knowledge of others who also felt the same about the love and support they received from members at the dojo.
Marital struggles, Financial stress, Issues with our Children and on-going health concerns are the punches and kicks this world uses to try to keep us down......but it fails.
When the world throws its hardest shots, the men and woman of KIHON are always there for each other.
Like Rocco said, "Its not about how hard you can hit, but how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward."
